We’ve all got our own version of a dream truck in mind - one that fits all the specs we need and that looks as badass as we want it to be. For many of us, that might just stay as it is, just a dream, but for someone like Cesar Cornejo, nothing could stop him from turning his dream into a reality.
Cesar’s dream truck is a tandem dualie that looks so futuristic, you might just wonder if you’ve time-traveled to the future if you ever see it on the road. That’s how this truck got its name - Time Warp.
The original specs
As someone who works in construction, Cesar was very familiar with Heavy-duty trucks and so he immediately knew that what he needed for his creation had to be a proper beast of a truck. That’s how he landed on a GMC Denali 3500HD, which boasts a 6.6L turbodiesel V-8 with a six-speed transmission, 445 horsepower, and a max payload of 7,153 pounds. This powerful truck, can tow up to 23,300 pounds and had all the specs Cesar needed to transform it into the bad boy of his dreams.
The transformation
To get started, Differential Engineering took the job of modifying the GMC’s fenders to fit a double axle and a custom 5-ton Meritor axle, ensuring that the ABS would still function nonetheless. These axles required two four-links. Then, Kelderman Air Ride took care of the suspension by designing custom mounts for their air-ride kits, eventually mounting a Cognito 12-inch lift at the front alongside the air-ride at the rear. The suspension alone took these guys about 450 hours to sort out, Cesar’s dream ain’t impossible but it sure wasn’t a walk in the park.
Up next came the exterior, which instantly became more badass with the addition of Fab Fours’ Vengeance Bumpers at the Front and Rear of the truck. In addition, a DB Customz grille was added with a Denali on it. To keep the view ahead well-lit, Cesar opted for some rigid lighting and a Rigid Lightbar across the bumpers.
At the rear, a rack was mounted on the bed, with the bedsides custom made from fiberglass to leave room for the axles.
It wouldn’t be a true 6x6 without an air actuator that can engage the driveshaft out of the second axle and which drives the third axle. To ensure that this beast could brake without issues, Cesar upgraded the braking powder with an SSBC big brake kit and a 19-inch Fab Fours rotor. At last, the tandem rig could welcome six 28x16 American Force Trek Super Dually wheels, wrapped in Fury tires, thanks to the help of American Force Wheels.
Just like that, Cesar’s dream came to life. What’s yours?
