CURT class 4 trailer hitches are designed to handle demanding tasks just as capably as they do recreational activities. Crafted from robust American steel and constructed as a solid one-piece unit, they offer unmatched reliability. These class 4 hitches are commonly installed on full-size pickup trucks, SUVs, and full-size vans. They excel in both professional applications and heavy-duty non-commercial towing.
Similar to all CURT class 1 through class 5 hitches, every class 4 hitch is tailored to a specific vehicle. This approach ensures that we manufacture a distinct hitch model for nearly every vehicle application. A vehicle-specific fit guarantees the highest towing capacity, an aesthetically pleasing appearance on the vehicle, and a customized installation without the need for complex alterations.

This class 4 hitch designed for Dodge Ram models has been constructed, rigorously tested, and rated with a weight carrying capacity of 10,000 pounds for gross trailer weight and 1,000 pounds for tongue weight. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch with a weight capacity of 12,000 pounds for WD and 1,200 pounds for WDTW. This versatility makes it an ideal choice for towing various trailers, including equipment haulers, larger utility trailers, full-size travel trailers, and boat trailers (always ensure you do not exceed the weight capacity of the lowest-rated towing component).
All class 4 tow hitches come equipped with a 2" x 2" hitch receiver. This receiver is securely welded in place and designed with an open back for easy removal of dirt and debris. The 2" receiver is compatible with various industry-standard 2" shanks, including a range of ball mounts, weight distribution hitches, pintle hitches, and other towing accessories. Additionally, it can be used for mounting cargo carriers or bike racks when necessary. To safeguard it from rust, dirt, and the elements when not in use, you can employ a hitch tube cover to provide protection.
Every CURT custom trailer hitch is thoughtfully designed, proudly crafted, meticulously finished, and rigorously tested in the USA (though it may include some imported hardware). This hands-on approach allows us to maintain direct oversight of the quality of our tow hitches throughout the entire manufacturing process.
Our process begins with the engineering of our custom hitches, which is carried out using actual vehicles and the latest technology. The fabrication and welding stages blend manual and robotic methods for both precision and efficiency. Subsequently, each tow hitch goes through a comprehensive finishing procedure. The hitches are meticulously descaled both chemically and mechanically, followed by immersion in a rust-resistant liquid A-coat to protect them inside and out. They are then coated with a highly durable black powder finish. To conclude, we subject all of our tow hitch designs to rigorous testing at our in-house research and development facility in Detroit, MI, adhering to SAE J684 standards to ensure safety for you, your team, and your cargo.
Our class 4 trailer hitches from CURT come with the assurance of a limited lifetime warranty.
